I am Martin Harris and have been working in Software Development circles since 1992. In 1996 I turned freelance and setup Tek-Design.com. In 2009 I secured a position with Lab49. Its been fun and continues to be. The year 2000 rolled in surprisingly quietly, and since then huge changes in IT have taken hold of the industry. Many of the changes are about people; different ways of running IT projects such as agile methods, extreme programming, test driven development, more diverse teams and global development challenges. Others such as open source software, cheaper hardware and storage allow for more powerful systems to be built cheaper. This is to name but a few. Many new challenges and changes lie ahead. Which is why I still enjoy working in the industry.
